About Us

Founding Story

In Anuradhapura, nestled within the historic heart of an ancient kingdom, we are a group of dedicated individuals with over 15 to 20 years of experience in academic research and public health practice. Our unique location, away from major cities, places us in the midst of rural communities, where we have lived and worked, experiencing the daily public health challenges faced beyond urban centers.

These challenges have become an integral part of our lives, igniting our determination to create an organization free from political, administrative, or other barriers. We envisioned a place where research seamlessly transformed into action, where a skilled public health workforce thrived, and where health standards were upheld, particularly in rural areas.

With unwavering resolve, we founded the Center for Public Health (Sri Lanka), a promise to prioritize the health and well-being of the often-overlooked rural populations. Today, our organization stands as a testament to our commitment to break down barriers and empower these communities for healthier lives.
